I saw Star Trek the other week. It was fantastic and I recommend seeing it while it's still in the cinema. The effects are brilliant.
I don't want to ruin the story, so I won't, but it really does bring back the franchise. All the hype is actually true. Go see it.
How good does Terminator: Salvation look? The clips look amazing. My disappointment with this set of films is that number 3 was rubbish - and you can't tell me otherwise - as well that this and the last film have been rated 12A. What does this say about a film.
Terminator was never meant to be a family film. The first one was scary for its time and the second a riot. I think the 4th Installment will improve things again but I wish they had stuck to being at least a 15 so that we knew its something more the grown ups. We need something to keep as ours.
Tranformers 2 is also on the horizon. I am looking forward to that. I don't often go to the cinema. I can't sit still long enough, I feel uncomfortable, not enough leg room, and if you need a toilet break or whatever then you end up missing too much.
I prefer to watch at home, where the sofa is big enough for us both to relax and I have that all handy pause control by my side.
Should the film companies start to think outside the box on this one. How about the opportunity to watch the film online, you can stream, download it for one watch only, but you can pause, rewind whilst watching it. I'd happily pay the cinema entrance fee for this and maybe more because they know yout mates or your partner will be with you. How about £10.00 to watch the film online, in all it's glory - we can all connect our pc/media centre's to the tv nowadays.
Rules:
One watch but you can rewind, pause etc.
Once watched fully (or within 5 hours of delivery) the film delete's itself from your hard drive or you can't access it anymore.
BUT
You get to watch the film the day it goes on nationwide release at the cinema.
Enough people enjoy the cinema that it won't effect it too much but people like me, who can't sit through 3 hours of movie without feeling quite unconfortable could also watch it.
Simple idea, but could it work?
If anyone is reading this then let me know what you think.

And onwards
Still no luck with the job hunt so lets forget that for the moment.
Arsenal did fantastically well last night to set up a Champions League Semi-Final with Manchester United. Brilliant 3-0 win and well deserved. We always looked the better team on the night. Great Walcott goal too.
Not really a lot to write today but soon, I'll start to update much more regularly.

Job Searching and other stuff
I got made redundant at the beginning of February and since then have shared my time between searching for a new job and working part-time for at one of my previous companies.
I have to say I am very grateful to them for the work as it totally beats being on job seekers or some other benefit. The people are great and the work is varied, though still sales, and keeps me going why I'm looking for that all new start.
A mention must go to Facebook here as I posted a note at the beginning of February, totally forgetting my old boss was one of my friends there, he saw it and the next day I had a call offering me some work for a month or two.
Thanks all.
It's been tough deciding what I want to do, there is a great wish to get out of sales but for the positions I have applied for, no response, and when I look at the 0dd sales role and send my CV I find I don't have to apply to many to get offered an interview.
I turned down one interview before going, not sure media sales is my bag really, and I hate - genuinely hate - group interviews. I seem to lose a little confidence when it comes to them, but give me a 1-on-1 or a telephone and I'm your man.
In other matters, once I have a role, it might just be that me and some others are going to form a new originals band. I have said though that without a full time job I can't afford to commit time nor money to it as getting a new role is a priority. Seems fair.
My brothers purchased Guitar Hero (Rock Band) and we all had a go on it the other night. Great fun and with so much going on - someone on drums, bass, guitar and even vocals, you have to really concentrate to get the songs right - I'm hoping to arrange an afternoon with them soon, maybe this weekend or Easter weekend where we can all spend a few hours just playing. It does take your mind of things that's for sure.
There are some great songs on there this time round too, with the Foo's appearing alongside 30 Seconds. Brilliant.
Not sure what to think about Alan Shearer going back to Newcastle, when it was announced it was happening yesterday and because it was April 1st and before 1200 I felt it was an April fools but it turns out it isn't. Well good luck to him.
The G20 summit is a chance to sort out the World's financial problems. Yeah, sure, we'll see. Obama wants something done; think everyone does but they never just do something do they? They'll come up with a plan that solves the problems within twenty years and by the time it needs to be actioned all the leaders will have passed the reigns to someone else who then has to clean up the mess. I hope it's not like that but it's likely it will be.
Laters.

Jobless
I got made redundant, again, last week. So I'm in the enviable position, lol, of looking for a job through a recession. Cool eh?
Really not sure what I want to do now...

Best of?
How can something be a best of if it contains previously unheard material? Doesn't that take the shine off buying an album which should represent the very best the artist has to offer.
Should they add new tracks to a best of when it should be a catalogue, at least, of their best work to date.
If you can add new songs to a 'best of' then why not call every album the best of? Imagine the albums I could release.:
The best of...
The very best of...
The greatest hits...
The really greatest hits...
the proper really good very best of...
Hmmm.
